If you missed the fun at last year’s after party, don’t make the same mistake this time around! When the vendor booths close on Saturday (6pm, August 28), stick around for a great time with the Skiffle Minstrels on the Lafayette stage. It’s an early, family-friendly gig, so bring the little ones, the not-so-little ones, the elder ones, the I-don’t-stay-up-late ones, and everybody else you know.

GREAT Blue Heron

We had a terrific time at the Great Blue Heron Festival—camping, enjoying the great performances, and playing our own memorable set at the Heron’s beautiful dance tent. Thanks to everybody who came out to support us (especially those who went the extra mile to sport their Skiffle gear and face painting!). Kudos to our guest scrubboard players, Ben Clarke and Bruce Handleman. And a big hello to all the new friends we made—hope to see you all out at a Skiffle show in the near future!

The Skiffle Minstrels won Best Country Act last night at ArtVoice’s Best of Buffalo Awards–the fifth year the band has walked away winners. Our thanks go out to everyone who voted; really, it’s all our fans who deserve the award. You guys are the best!

The nominations are out and the Skiffle Minstrels have received nods in THREE categories: Best Country Act, Best Male Vocalist (Paul Todaro), and Best Female Vocalist (Maggie Zindle). Thanks to everyone who voted–we’ll be excited to hear the final results at the awards ceremony on April 26 (Town Ballroom, 6–9pm).
